Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I'd love to see someone have a go at the Carl Wilson prototype!
I always loved the look of the tailpiece.

Me too!
To my knowledge, I don't think anyone has attempted to build one.
I've thought about the tailpiece a fair bit.
Reckon I could fashion one out of steel or Aluminium and fit parts from one of those black import Mustang tremolos.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
That is FANTASTIC as a bass!!! The shape of the guard reminds me of a '51 P-bass/Tele bass. I wonder how the Tele bass head would look on it

Wow, yeah, that does look amazing. Might be one of the coolest bass shapes I've ever seen. Nice work Pat!

Weather is starting to pick up here in Melbourne.
Was able to get a few coats of paint on this bass.

That is amazing. As much as I hear some people complain about the Tele guitar head shape being used all the time or in places it "shouldn't be", you don't see the Tele head shape on a bass very often. It's a really nice look I think.

I assembled and wired up this bass today.
Sounds pretty nice! wish I had a decent bass amp to blast it through.

That turned out fantastic. Weird, fun and recognisable shape. Super nice sunburst too.

Thankyou!
I left the finish uncut/unpolished. Kinda' dig how rough it looks.

Every time I see the trem on that guitar I can't get over how cool it is.
