Strat Pickguard Question
How compatible are Strat pickguards from one country of origin to another? In other words, if I'm looking for an 8-hole pickguard for an MIJ Strat, will any 8 hole guard fit, or will hole placement be different like MIJ/CIJ and MIA Jazzmaster pickguards?

Re: Strat Pickguard Question
I have never had to mix n match guards for strats, but i do recall discussions on the FDP strat forum about holes not lining up when MIJ guards were used on USA bodies .... but i don't recall which era bodies .... i've had a sleep (and a drink) since then

relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Re: Strat Pickguard Question
I've wondered the same about MIM/MIA compatibility. I have an MIM Strat that's just begging for a mint 'guard to replace the pearloid.

Re: Strat Pickguard Question
I'm pretty sure MIM/MIA should be compatible. Most (if not all) of the MIM Standard bodies and necks are actually made in Corona and then shipped down to Mexico for assembly, finishing, etc.

Re: Strat Pickguard Question
my guitar player has an MIM SSH Strat. We bought a USA mint guard for it. No dice.RumorsOFsurF wrote: I've wondered the same about MIM/MIA compatibility. I have an MIM Strat that's just begging for a mint 'guard to replace the pearloid.
