Last time I checked, Harry White charged over €1000 for one of his guitars (I recall these were Chinese bodies that he finishes off, correct me if I am wrong) I recall thinking at the time “I could get a real used Rickenbacker 330 for €1000” so I passed on contacting him.

If you are looking for a specific “look” and you’re on a budget Harry White would be the one to go to… he’s in the U.K. though, right?
He is in the UK. He said a 360 wb would be €1350. So it could be that a 330 (no binding or inlays--and I think the 360wb has the stereo jack) is about €1000.

But Ric prices are crazy high right now...
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Fuck that then. Many of those Chinese bodies have fucked up proportions, measurements, misaligned necks...

That’s kinda the conclusion I came to myself back when I first investigated the prospect of buying a Harry White Rickenfaker.

I think Harry White is useful if you 1.) want a vintage inspired Rickenbacker that isn’t in production or 2.) if you want a finish that isn’t on offer.

For me, the only Rickenbacker guitars I care about are the 330 and the models in the 330 body style, like the 340 and 1993. So, for me, a used Jetglo or Fireglo 330 is just fine for me and I can get one used for €1000 to €1500. So for what I want I can just get a real one.

If Harry’s prices were lower, say €700, I’d probably get one. For now I will watch online… January is coming and people will be broke from Christmas and looking to sell.

Harry White builds all of his guitars by scratch (using the best materials) and his prices are fairly close to a real Rick. The difference is you can fully customize all of the features, choose models that have been out of production for decades, and are all handbuilt to the highest standard.

My dream is to special order a 360F from him one day.

More HWs to drool over... :?

You bought a Chinese Rick that didn't turn out so well a few years ago, correct?

Same... Although the Hofners they sell, seem to be third shift product from the factory that makes the real licensed Hofners.

Hi thank you for this information, did you hear he uses Chinese bodies that he finishes ? I was told he uses the same dimension as original and it is handmade, because I'm thinking about making one and price is reasonable for a luthier who build what you want. All comments on FB group seems the guitars are good quality.

My info could be incorrect and is certainly old, I remember reading this in a Facebook group in like 2013, I would ask the man himself

My 4th guitar ever was one of these. I bought it at Scarborough Town Center. I don't think it was Long and MacQuade but a smaller shop that was underneath the electric stairs in the middle of the mall, if anyone local remembers. Circa 1994. No bigsby on mine but instead a crappy spaghetti bridge.

Hi Folks

I picked up one of these on eBay recently. Wondered if anyone has ever seen this copy before and has any info - fiesta red 330 model with bare finish bolt on neck, no branding? I think it is 90s, but not sure. Plays pretty well after a set up, I'm replacing out the pickups with genuine ricks.

Not sure if the image link works....

Thanks,

If 90s, could be a Session Rocker, I'm pretty sure they made bolt ons. A few different ones came from Korea at the time. So hard to tell. Just the one pic too.

Remove the truss rod cover, see if you spot a different color. Also could you take a pic of the headstock whenever you get a chance, if you don't mind?

The tailpiece is most likely a replacement from that one place that sells Rickenbacker parts.. Wakefield or something, can't remember the name atm...

I'll post pics when it arrives. (As well as comparisons with the actual Ric that should be arriving to me tomorrow.)

Thanks for this. I'll check under the truss rod cover and get some more photos posted...

Nice. My guess is it was a store called Walter`s. They were known for being in malls in the 90s. I used to frequent the square one location all the time as a delinquent teenager myself.
