Any decent dual P-90 guitars under a grand?
Would love to add a dual P-90 guitar to the fold. What's good out there for under a grand?
My collection mostly consists of Fender offsets and teles, so I wouldn't mind getting away from Fenders. Never been a huge Gibson person, although the super fancy LP Standard with P90s looks lovely, but is way too expensive, and never been into the LP Specials.
Any ideas?

Always loved the idea of the Jim Adkins Telecaster
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I've been looking at the new Epiphone Aged Pelham SG with a wraparound and dual P90s since they were released. They're supposed to be excellent value for around 400€.

Are you looking for a Solidbody, Thinline, Hollowbody? Hardtail or Vibrato?
I came from playing Les Pauls (and still got a Studio 60s Tribute with P90s which misses all the premium binding and stuff) before I made my transition to Offsets. I still love it but it feels very weird and strange and takes some time to get used to again when I pick it up.
I also can recommend the Eastwood Sidejack Deluxe (I have an older one with the 24,75“ scale - so basically a Twangy Les Paul with P90s Bite and Vibrato) the newer ones are 25,5“ even.
If you like Les Pauls but not Gibsons: Tokai? I bet you can find an old one for 1000 used. Can‘t tell much about the newer ones except that they are cheaper.
Hagström has some very cool guitars and a few of them come with P90s (some Vikings, some Swedes)
Rivolta Mondata/Combinata are slightly over 1000 new but maybe you can find a good deal on one...I really dig their design.
Yamaha Revstar? The first Yamaha since the old Offset SGs that actually looks and feels good!
Reverend has some cool dual P90 models.
Guild Starfire V (used for <1000 bucks) and T-Bird come in P90 versions.

The new(-ish) Epiphone Casinos are pretty great… I have the Worn and my buddy just got the Coupe. Both great out the box and cheap enough that you could throw some Fralins in there if there stock pickups don’t do it for you and still get out under a grand. I haven’t felt the need to upgrade…

I've been perpetually on the hunt for a single P90 guitar I like for a long long time. I'm too fussy I think.
All I want is a nice subtle mid-50's Junior for less than 1500 doubloons, but apparently they're worth more than that

Revstar is a great suggestion.
The Fano Omnis MG6 also looks cool if you can deal with a Strat trem.
A Tele with P90s is usually a good time.

This is a no-brainer if hollow body is ok. I have the worn Casino and that guitar is amazing for its price.fever606 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:15 amThe new(-ish) Epiphone Casinos are pretty great… I have the Worn and my buddy just got the Coupe. If a stock Epi Casino is good enough for Gary Clark Jr., it's good enough for everyone, I reckon.fever606 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:15 amThe new(-ish) Epiphone Casinos are pretty great… I have the Worn and my buddy just got the Coupe. Also adding to the bandwagon, the new Epiphone stuff is amazing.

Re: Any decent dual P-90 guitars under a grand?
I used to have the Pelham blue SG - nice guitar - brilliant for the money, but shocking neck dive, and I couldn't get on with the neck shape - mine was a very flat D with quite steep feeling sides - squarish really. I traded it (and lots of other stuff) for a Gibson LP Special, which wasn't much over £1000 at the time. The Epi LP Special is probably well worth a look - supposed to have a rounder neck than the SG, if that's your thing.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 3:19 pmAlso adding to the bandwagon, the new Epiphone stuff is amazing.

Keep your eyes open for a late-‘90s Gibson LP Special. They had a good few years then right before they switched to P-100s, and they pop up occasionally for less than a grand.

a) I'd like to see verification on the longscale Sidejack- The Eastwood Surfcaster reissues are all listed as 25.5" scale, but they are definitely 24.75" IRL. I wonder if the mis-labeling is something systemic. (Also, they didn't go through a re-design that I'm aware of, just new stock batches arriving from the factory.)MayTheFuzzBeWithYou wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 2:39 am

b) I can vouch for the Rivoltas being finely appointed guitars- first 12-string I've owned/played with P-90s (Combinata 12) and I'm quite enjoying the new/different tonal palette.
