As ugly as these things are, they sure sound great, I've heard.

But... wtf?! Why that hole??? Any idea what could have been it? Was it shot? Stabbed?
i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.

NO!, When the tremolo spring breaks & there is the strings tension on the tremolo it busts a hole in the top
It's very common in fact on these Flys
I even thought about cutting & screwing a metal plate under the wood patch I installed but didn't.
Ken Parker is a design genius but there is that one flaw

When I got it all the tremolo parts were missing & was found in a trash can with the headstock hanging out :fp:
The Piezo board isn't working but found another to try & the Deluxe models have DiMarzio Pickups & other Refined Flys have Seymour Duncans

Primus show was a big HIT & lasted till midnight WOW!

Never played one but I always like those Parkers and other futuristic guitars !
Btw did you catch Battles opening for Primus ? They're one of my favorite band but I was surprised to learn they toured together, I wouldn't think they'd appeal to the same crowd.

YES! Battles was there with two members = Drummer & Keyboardist/Guitar
My Youngest son really liked their progrock, He's 31 BTW

Worrying to think that a 31 year old is too young for Battles. The 00s doesn’t feel that long ago :(
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Primus did MOST of their hits except Mr. Krinkle, What's nuts Les Claypool even had the upright bass there but never used it..
My Son & I got VIP Tickets & got to sit on a sofa with a table looking eye level at the bands & was so comfy too
Les used two Carl Thompson basses, a four & six string + a Rickenbacker 4003 & a Double neck Bass/Guitar Rickenbacker
Larry LaLonde used a ES335 & a double neck Gibson SG 12/6 EDS1275
Someone tossed some weed up on the stage & Les Claypool said hey someone threw drugs up here & the stage tech came & retrieved the smoke for later, It smelled good in there as many where puffin the cronic ;)

Noticed about 15-20 small bubbles in the back of the neck in the carbon fiber while I was sealing & filling up a deep scratches & chips in the back of the neck with #10 CA Glue
Was taking a small 1cmx1cm piece of 220 & feathering the bubbles out in the carbon fiber layer
There are several more & am going to try and get a photo showing them
I'm also reinforcing the threaded holes for the strap buttons with CA Glue & around were the bushings fit for the tremolo at the rear under the backplate as it is chipped around the bass side opening & I thought if I start a set of the nylon bushings & flood CA glue around them & should be able to pull the bushings leaving the glue intact
Haven't tried to remove them yet + I have an extra set that Mike @ WI Guitar/G-Man Music sent me
Photos to come...
It worked the bushings tapped out from the front & left the glue intact

After Removal, Note: Patch from the backside is invisible

MUCH MORE SANDING TO COME!!

While slowly sanding the rear of the guitar I could see the high line of the carbon fiber strip under the main layer & didn't even try an sand it smooth

Well, it's back on working a bit on the Parker Fly Deluxe after the Takamine New Yorker
Took the bridge back apart & masked & primed it with black + a few passes on the Flys Body & carried it back in need a good coat to work the body spots out & have much more sanding coming this week
Hope to score the paint & get that sucker painted SOON!
Put the bridges screws in cardboard & put blue thread locker on all the screws threads
Cleaned the worktable off in my shop of tools & got the Takamine & Parker setup for surgeries
Shouldn't have sprayed that bridge down there as it stinks like paint now & Wife is complaining about it, It was only 4-5 small puffs BUT?
Grabbed a few photos & the Heat is On Now!
Waiting on the Takamine's Gold Logo due Thursday 6/30/22
Need to go wash my hands after spraying that primer

Love watching this project.

I recall Reeves Gabrels playing Parker guitars when he played with David Bowie
