Squier CV ‘70s Strat Pick Guard Swap

Post by enricosonic » Sun Jan 29, 2023 10:28 am

My daughter wants me to swap her pick guard and I haven’t pulled and made a template or anything, just wonder if anyone definitively knows if a standard US or MIM guard fits these.

[insert joke about strat tremolo & Squier being better than Fender]
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

As far as I know (from Jags) Squier stuff should be a perfect match with AVRI guards… but I don‘t know if this is true for Strats too…

Ok what the hell, I’ll try an AVRI guard out.

Cheers

Do you know if that’s true for CVs too? I know it worked on the VM line.
I just got a Jaguar and wouldn’t mind swapping the guard.

Edit: typos

My girlfriend‘s Shell Pink Jag has sported a black guard from customworldguitarparts.com for a which should have the AV62 fitting if I‘m not mistaken - and we also test-fitted a parchment, a mint and an anodized gold guard (from Herad). All fitted perfectly well.

Somehow I got an AV 62 guard, I didn’t mean to specify 62. Anyway, I can confirm that thing does not fit. Strat guys probably already know this.
