I found me a bass. In pieces.

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

I found me a bass. In pieces.

This thing was at a neighborhood garage sale. Neck off and in a box. I know Matao from years back made some lawsuit stuff but don't know much about their P-Bass copies. Seems pretty well made in terms of the body and neck.

I snapped some pics. Unfortunately I don't have any bass strings lying around so I don't know much yet.

This doesn't look promising:

The truss rod nut doesn't look good, but that nut looks pristine tho'.

Should be a bit of fun getting it in working order.

Man, that thing has a look. Whatever you do, don’t change the look!

Yeah. And that look is COOL AF.

Maybe swap out that pickup for something meatier though.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Strung up and set up. Needed very little adjustment.

Sensational score - peak P bass in my book, single single-coil is the business. Stunningly pretty too.
If you decide to sell it at some point, put me on the list!

OK... and I'm no bass aficionado but I'm fairly blown away by it
