With the black MJT body not being used for my Queen Bee project, it reminded me of Tom Morello's black telecaster. I decided to put a EMG pickup in the bridge. A normal tele neck pickup will be in the neck. Beat up pickguard and maple neck. Should be pretty awesome. I am not going to have the neck pickup go through the pots because they are 25k for the EMG.

It's a boost booster, to boost your boost - it makes your tone much muchier.

How are you handling the switching and wiring? I've never seen passive and active pickups successfully combined, unless you have a preamp/buffer in line with the passive pickup to match impedance and output.
I'd pick up an EMG neck pickup to go with it. The whole Telecaster set is IMO the best sounding set EMG has ever made, and probably the least-used. It's one of those "best kept secret" types of things.

I know it won't work with both on, but I believe if I have the neck go to the switch to the jack and the bridge go to the switch and to the pots to jack that it should work in the neck or bridge position.

Run the bridge to the pots, then switch. Neck straight to switch, then switch to jack.
That will give you the option to turn down the bridge pickup to "blend" in the middle position.

I didn't do that to the guard. I have had it sitting upstairs for such a long time I don't remember where I got it. It was like that when I got it. I just re drilled the filled neck pickup holes.

hilarious.
I think it is from my guitar. I filled the neck pup mounting holes to be closer to 'correct'.
now, i look like a dork for making a fuss
