Goodbye Green, Hello White
Some of might have seen my OTM Tele week-long ownership okay out in real time. That's off to it's new OSG home and this cheap replacement came in its place... the courier literally delivered one and collected the other at the same time.
I lost a little money in the process but no big deal.
2012 MIM Classic 60s. How it landed vs half an hour later...
It has the "CS Texas Special" still in it as I don't have any spare interesting Tele pickups lying around. It might get a Kinman, maybe a rail HB of some kind. We'll see. There's no rush.
Needs stickers.

Maybe a Mojotone Quiet Coil? It's basically splitting the difference. It's two alnico rails (like a skinny Firebird pickup) hidden underneath a cover with fake polepieces running down the center. They have a hotter Broadcaster model that I'd probably go for if I were you. Most people find the Quiet Coils to sound a lot like proper Tele pickups.
Here's Andy's video on them.

I took a Bare Knuckle Piledriver bridge pickup out of a Tele I bought, they’re not hum canceling but 13k and A5s - might be an option to consider.

Yeah, those seem good options. I'll pop them on the list.
It's initial setup is done and it plays great. Probably needs a little more tweaking as things acclimatise. It came with 9s on it but those were off in seconds and a fresh set of 11-52 put in their place.
Neck is a comfortable C shape. I wouldn't call it a 'Modern C' or a chunky boi...just kinda in the middle. Certainly doesn't seem to be aggravating my hand cramps. The pickup it came with sounds good.

My turn to say: my man!
I’m beginning to think you should look at an early 80s maple board MIJ Squier or Fender. My SQ Tele Custom absolutely nails the “11s on a slab” vibe and even the neck pickup is great. You’d need to change the bridge pickup tho.

Weird thing is, in a week I'm flying to Costa Rica to visit my parents. My dad is throwing out some guitars since he isn't really able to play em he says.
So i called dibs on the MIM Tele, identical to yours!
Stay tuned

I have a CAR MIM tele... my first tele ever. Got it a few years ago cuz I'd never owned a tele, pre-Covid for about $400 with shipping. Great guitar. I loved it from the first pickin.' Stupid of me to have waited so long.

Re: Goodbye Green, Hello White
It may be a (relatively) “cheap replacement” but it is a classic look.
At this point i’m in favour of you changing guitars every 2 weeks, if it means we get to see the new ones posted here. Keep em coming
Maybe we could have a poll…”what model guitar will JSett buy next?”
