I gigged with a few home-made Tele Deluxe's for a while. I've made mutliple versions of this same guitar, over the years.
It's basically a Tele Deluxe, but with a mahogany body, and LP Goldtop cosmetics. Super versatile.
Every time I sell it, I miss it, and make another one.
Pretty soon, I'll probably make a 4th.

Re: Favorite Non-standard Telecaster?
Forgot to mention this one: a true "Tele Paul"
Probably the coolest build that I ever did. Rosser Guitars made the body exactly to my spec. This was my gigging workhorse for a good 5 years.
If it was a pound or two lighter, I'd probably still have it.

My fave non-standard models are the 72 Thinline and the Custom. I voted Custom.

I would have voted for that, given the option.

My vote definitely goes to the cabronita.
Such a cool tele.
I used to have one. a couple actually.
I should get one again.

+1 to the Cabronita.
Some might have viewed it as a "fad" type guitar, but I gigged with one extensively, and it's a versatile workhorse. Can do tele and LP tones for days.
