Oh wow, I love the slightly desaturated faded look! Normally I'm not much of a fan of sunburst, but I would happily have my #1 refinished in a burst just like this!Kyon wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 3:40 am
I couldn’t sleep so I finally got around to finishing a build I’ve had in the works for a few months. I wanted to build a sort of prototype slab “1959” Fender Factory guitar. A bit like a jazzmaster gold guard. It even has an Esquire decal to make it seem like something made off of parts grabbed off the floor. I went with a G&L MFD bridge and Alnico Classic Neck. I need to adjust the nut a bit more but am very balky with how this one turned out.

The secret is to go with brown on the edges and don’t let it build up too much. It’ll naturally faded to a darker shade over timePuppyGirlBelly wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 9:25 am

My new baby, a rare (especially in lefty) 71' reissue CIJ Tele. Super resonant ash body, suprisingly fat neck for a Japanese Fender, plays like a dream and is in pretty much like-new condition considering it's over 20 years old. Been on the hunt for a really nice lefty Tele for years and this finally feels like the one.

I’ve been keeping my eye out for a 70s reissue Tele myself… not that I need another tele.
