Picked this up off of Reverb. As far as I know it is all stock. The pots are crapped out, so I will likely swap them out for new ones and some different knobs. (I will keep the stock ones just in case.) The kill switch doesn't work, so I ordered a new one of those and the toggle cuts out, so I ordered a new one of those.... Pickups sound good though. The neck is much quieter than the bridge. When I have it opened up, I will take a look. The bridge is pretty loud and bassy. Tuners work pretty well really. Not sloppy or too stiff. The neck is pretty chewed up, but pretty evenly so. It has seen some things.

I also got a puretone jack while I was at it to make sure the cable is held well. I will give it a good cleaning when I have it apart. I want to put strap locks on it, but I am guessing I will need to cut the screws short for the upper horn one. It is at an angle and that horn is pretty small. I am guessing the upper button was moved to the back at one point since there is a screw hole near the neck plate. The bottom button is much more towards one side than centered stock. Pretty interesting guitar. It is really thin body wise. Getting my Pat Smear on. Might replace the stock pickups with the 59 and JB combo like his. I will see what the guts look like when I open it up. (I would save the stock pickup with stock knobs of course.) This isn't a mint collector piece as it sits, so I don't mind modding it to make it sound more like I want it to.

Opened it up today. The stock pickups were spliced inside. They both read about 7.6 or so. The toggle was glued to the shielding plate under the guard. Also all the pickguard screws and such are flathead.... I took all the electronics and screws out and put them in a bag. I changed the tiny flat head screws for phillips stainless ones. The stratish jack plate is bolted to the guard in the upper two spots and then screwed to the body in the lower single spot. I used small screws like you would use for a on/on switch and a bolt underneath to update it. The three way toggle was glued to the metal plate and a huge pain to remove. One of the pickup rings is missing a piece. I am going to see if a ring maker will make me a set for it. They are slightly wider than a normal Gibson sized pickup ring. The rings are mounted to the guard, not body. It has a swimming pool route with foil lining the inside. I got strap locks installed. I had to shorten the screw for the upper horn so it was the same length as the stock one so it wouldn't go through the other side. I conditioned the fretboard. I want to order different pickups to install with the new rings this next week. I also ordered a Gotoh TOM bridge to replace the stock one. The stock one isn't in bad shape, but it isn't really adjustable. It is in the bag with the other stock parts. I won't have to take out the stock bridge mounting thimbles. The threading on the stock posts is M8 1.25 just like some Gotoh ones. I might have to shorten the Gotoh posts with a cutting wheel, but I will wait and see when that bridge arrives. I think that is about all I know for now. I filled that hole in the back with a wooden skewer. Here is how it sits currently. New pots are installed and new knobs are on the way. The stock pots had like a weird half shaft mount. I did take the stock capacitors off to reuse with the new pots. I don't intend to wire up that kill switch. I will just leave it as it.

Heyyy i have one of these, too (currently for sale, though), and they're very cool guitars! Something quite different, eh?
There's a shop that sells Hag vintage parts, it's not cheap, but I think I also ordered pickup rings for another HIIN that i used to own.

Just in case.
i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.

Thanks!! I emailed a guy who sells custom pickup rings to see if I sent him a tracing if he would make me a set of simple flat short black ones in the correct sizing and it sounds like he is game. The stock ones have such a cool unique shape, but they are thin and fragile. I would rather just have a simple flat set for longevity.

The stock ones are in the bag with the stock parts though.

The bridge came in, but sadly the tom posts didn't fit so I decided to pull the stock ones and install the ones with the TOM bridge. To do that, I put a pickguard screw I cut a little shorter into the stock bridge holes and slowly screwed the stock posts in until it pushed the thimbles out of the body. It worked great. Then I used my drill press to drill the stock holes to fit the TOM bridge thimbles. The new knobs and toggle came in. I am just missing the bridge pickup and the two new pickguard rings I am having made for it.

She chewed up a toggle tip once, but that was pretty early. She is only one, so it isn't like I can be that mad at her, but it baffles me that she has like 20 chew toys and bones around to chew on that she likes and the moment I am gone for two hours, she chews up a pickup. LOL MY DOG ATE MY GUITAR PARTS!!!
