buying a mandolin

Post by dc » Thu Jun 19, 2008 5:08 am

i've decided my next guitar should be smaller and have eight strings. anyone here own or play a mandolin? any insights into buying one? i assume the usual axiom about getting a solid top applies, but anything else ii should know?
gotta be small when target times come / gotta be smart while acting dumb

What you really need is a Mandocello. Those things are superb.

Try this one out, a good starter one.

Depends on what you want to spend.

However after researching for months this guy makes the finest, highest quality.
4, 5, 8 string versions acoustic and electric.

Don't expect to depend on your knowledge of guitar to be able to play mandolin. Two different worlds.
