Pictures of my 1975 Gibson Gospel acoustic

Post by Stereordinary » Thu Jul 10, 2008 10:42 am

I haven't talked about my acoustic here much because honestly I'm a terrible acoustic player.  Well, I'm a terrible guitar player actually, but I digress.  Even still, I can honestly say that I own the best acoustic guitar I have ever played or heard.  I hold all others to my own and she outshines them all.  Bought for my mom by my dad and given to me by my mom on my 21st birthday, she's my one and only acoustic, and I've never lusted after another.  So here she is.

So how long has it been in your family then?  I wish my parents were musically-inclined  :-\

I'm not sure when it was bought actually.  I don't think they got it new, but even today it's in great condition.  My dad was a multi-instrumentalist, but thanks to injuries he sustained in Vietnam, we was limited to playing the drums when I knew him.  My mom did some JoniMitchell-inspired fingerpicking, but never really played guitar much.  I don't think she's even picked one up since sometime before she gave this to me.

Very nice indeed! A guy brought a '74 J45 into the shop yesterday, it was beautiful.
