As far as I can get them. They are cranked down. 8) Measuring from the metal surround it's about 5mm from the treble string on each pickup. Would probably dig it if I could get some more clearance but then I'd have to route it out.
Ahhhh ok, thanks!. I think I have them too close to the strings on the 620. I can't them them much lower, there's a layer of foam and the screws feel like they're as tight as they're going to get.
That foam compresses further than you think. I think I got mine down pretty far by pressing down on the pickup and snugging up the screws to hold the position, rather than potentially stripping the wood. The foam rings are about £8 here so there is the option of buying some and cutting it/them down a little.

I got it down a bit more. I'd probably have to drill the pickup mounting holes a tad deeper but they look good now.

Also, is there anyone here (a Rick fan) who lives in Nashville? There's a '73 360 in Burgundy at Guitar Center that's been haunting me. It looks like it needs its bridge moved back (Geoff/Cestlamort pointed that out to me) but who knows what else it might need. Maybe if someone was in the area they could check it out and report back :)

Is the bridge backwards on it? I love the color and heck the price isn't horrible...

The 230/430 is super underrated (IMO)... it's probably the Ric I would go for first...

No, it was installed too close to the pickup, notice how the saddles are set far back for intonation

Worth noting that moving the bridge involves just two (wood) screw holes for the baseplate (which will cover up the old holes). Old bridges / bridge plates almost certainly won’t work with modern ones but are fine in their, uh, own idiom.

Thanks a lot... >:( I HAD to buy the vinyl edition to get the large booklet. ;D

Pretty good compilation, though they left out some ringers, like The Connells, Arms Akimbo (their song “The Voice” is a classic), The Reivers, Miracle Legion, Love Tractor, Guadalcanal Diary, The Individuals, etc.

What band is on the cover?
The band on the cover is... wait for it... One Plus Two.
I've been playing this album at least once a day. So much love for The Darrow's "Is it You". They were a band from Philadelphia. Completely missed out on them back in the day. :fp:

I found they have a Facebook page and a video of photos of them performing back in the day of the first song the singer/guitarist wrote, called, "I Stand Here" - https://www.facebook.com/TheDarrowsMusi ... 3830396759.

Some YouTube links:

Now I want to see if I can find more of the other Strum and Thrum bands' past and current music. 8)

So what do you guys think of the 330/360 models going back to 21 fret?? They look cool and i wonder how the neck pickup sounds now? Has anyone tried them yet?

I’m psyched. It’s kinda my dream Ric spec. I have one on the way (a jetglo 360) but UPS is telling me that “Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed.” Stay tuned.

I played a 2023 360/12 at guitar center tonight and here are some thoughts:
1) it was a well-made instrument
2) it featured the new neck profile (a shallowiish C) which still seems narrow at the nut but was plenty playable. I’ll need to find another with the older style neck and compare.
3) the new necks also have 21 frets (as opposed to 24). This put the neck pickup further away from the bridge pickup and the difference in sound between the two seemed very pronounced. The sound was pretty gorgeous, especially in the bridge and middle positions.
4) the finish (Fireglo in this case) was quite beautiful and definitely got me thinking that this is the color I’d go with were I to buy one.

On 3, why would the reduced number of frets move the neck pickup farther from the bridge? Isnt the scale length still the same?

They moved the neck pickup forward so it's next to the end of the fretboard, just like they had it on the 24 fret one, so it's physically further apart.
