Mine is a humble J29, but it sounds and smells lovely! I put on some flatwounds recently, I've been enjoying the change. I should also take some new pictures.

I don't think I'll try again unless a black LP appears with a 40mm nut width.
i wonder what would that be? a late 60s-70s custom/deluxe type thing? that greco i posted has a nice narrow nut, they seem more common on japan/korean made guitars.

There's 60s SGs with narrow nuts but the LPs stayed pretty consistent from what I can tell. I've been looking at the Greco/etc stuff just waiting for the right one to come up.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

I don't have the 335 any longer, but the 330 will always stay.

Look at Orville too. My LP neck is super slim.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Just the two Firebirds, 1990 and 2018 (I think?):

PacaFeliz, I'm unsure of how to post pics, but I can describe a recent acquisition, which I so much enjoy: a 2011 white SG, but a Melody Maker. It currently sports a HB sized, nickel finished, P90 on the bridge, aged pearl scratchplate and has a single volume potentiometer.
It's a pretty interesting instrument with its one piece maple body, mahogany neck with roasted maple neck, USA made with a lovely satin nitro finish .... It sold discounted in 2011 for $399.00 and if there was ever a rock & roll, minimalist guitar that kicks butt, it is this one.
It's made me a huge fan of the SGs.

Thanks!

It's just the stock white 70's model, the only colour they sell in Canada. There have been black and olive drab ones via store or online exclusives in the US and UK, but the only one they send to music stores here looks like this:

I changed the guard and truss rod cover over to black when I swapped the pickups, and oiled the fretboard to darken it. It always played great, but I found the stock look bland and the stock pickups were stupidly hot and muddy.

Good to see you still have the LPC but "damn son!" on that SG. You're crazy! :w00t: Any issues with it or is it straight?

Heheh!! Thanks Mike, both are killer guitars. the Black LP Custom is still my #1 after almost a decade, but I play the SG/LP lot too.

The SG has had a break in the control cavity which brought it down to attainable levels. It is visible from the back more. The three PAFs on it sound really nice. The neck one is the loudest of the three.

My modest 2013 Gibson LPJ - 3,5kg, bone stock. Plays very well and very resonant with bold tone.
And 2008 Gibson SG Special gloss, slightly less than 3kg with custom wound PAF copies.
Also pictured Squier Tele and some japanese made SG custom copy.
