I agree. If I could only have one guitar it would be a Strat.MrWizard44 wrote: Man, how can anyone deny the sheer functionality of the Fender Stratocaster? That is like... THE ideal mass-produced average man's instrument. How can anyone complain? I mean, sure, most of us move on to try other things, but it all comes back to the Strat.
Also, about the anti-country music statements: I used to be closed minded, and all I wanted to play or listen to was metal. We played heavy metal exclusively for so long. I often made derogatory statements about country music. My taste eventually changed enough to allow me to listen to some other types of music. Guess what? I now love country. I had to about relearn to play, but it has been a fun ride. My live shows now are mostly acoustic soft rock and country.
Musically speaking, one of my biggest regrets is that I didn't diversify from the start. Then again, I think if I had been made to play something I didn't like at the time I may have never gotten good at guitar.
I'm not knocking anyone for not liking country, or any other genre of music. I've been there and there are certain types I still despise. However, don't completely close your ears or your mind. Someday your taste just might change as you grow and mature musically.

Re: My guitars.
ha! ask me, man! i used to listen exclusively to techno music for nearly 10 years. and it was a long way to where i now am, sitting around and learning guitar. [well, i didn't stop listening and producing techno music, but the word "exclusively" seems so stubborn to me now]Regan wrote: Also, about the anti-country music statements: I used to be closed minded, and all I wanted to play or listen to was metal.
