The 72' Thinlines and Customs both have "vintage style" frets, and 7.25" radii...
Damn, I wish the Deluxe did! I love the big headstock and I really don't like the F-hole or the pearloid 'guard on the Thinlines.
Welcome to my world. Now you know why I sold my 'real' Fenders and only play custom guitars that I built myself!
You can get an Allparts neck with big headstock and 7.25" radius (and I think vintage frets) for $120.
Add a USACG or Guitarmill body, some electronics, and hardware...you'd be good to go (for little money) with a higher quality (in my opinon of course) guitar!
Just give in and join the P-land guitar building party!
It's not THAT hard to paint and build them, you save money, you get a higher quality result, and it's fun!
Here's some pics my friend posted of the Custom I built for him...I ABSOLUTELY 100% GUARANTEE you will NEVER get a guitar body of the quality he got from Fender; USA, Custom shop, MIJ, or MIM. It was a 1 pc ultralight swamp ash he bought from Musikraft. You could do something similar except with a 70's headstock and two WR pickups (Deluxe).

Sort of off-topic but: Do Deluxes have 1 meg pots?
Originals...yes
Reissues...no
Guys that have the reissues claim the pickups sound MUCH more like the originals if you replace the factory pots (250K I think) with 1meg.
