I couldn’t find any pics of them playing guitars… but the all girl Iron Maiden tribute band called the Iron Maidens practice there as well. You can hear the faint echoes of “Run Through the Hills” being played in between Ranchero and Mariachi music.

Interesting story, that ill save for my memoirs.. haha
I have a friend who was fooled into hooking up with a tranny in a bar in TO.  Strangest part of the story is that he actually voluntarily told everyone all about it.   ???
I went home with 2 drag queens (they lived together) cause I was drunk..
Oh well.
Don't worry, it happens to the best of us.  ;D

There's an AVRI @ Sam Ash in Cerritos which is right on my way home from work.

I thought it was a killer sounding guitar.  I also really like the vibrato action on it, but the setup was so bad on it that every note above the 12th fret fretted out.
All for the bargain price of $1450

Dude!!!  Seriously, I played that exact same guitar just last week!!! I've been working in Fullerton lately and I figured I'd take the short jaunt to Cerritos during a lunch break.  It's the 3 tone sunburst, hanging behind the counter!!!

And yeah, the setup SUCKED!!!  I wanted to ask for an allen wrench and adjust it on the spot as I was so ashamed such a poorly setup Jazzy was there to leave only bad impressions.  Lately, I've sold off two of my other guitars and I only have my oly white JM now, and have been thinking about Les Pauls (which is really out of the norm for me).  So, I plugged in that VOS 57 GoldTop and the 58 VOS Ebony Les Paul they had on the wall into the Fender '57 Twin RI.  I was really getting some *wonderful* tones out of the Lesters, so I thought I would plug in the JM so I could kind of do an A/B (since I didn't have my JM with me).  Needless to say, it was not a legitimate test.

JMs are not common in stores, but it seems Sam Ash is always one of the better bets in finding one.  Unfortunately, they're almost always set up with action so low that bends fret out, but this one was the worst.

Anyway... small world...

Oh hell yea!

I gotta say I really loved the way it sounded into that Vox AC15 they had there.  but the guitar was literally unplayable.

I also plugged into a Krank amp they had there that some kid was trying to get to work and turned out he blew it up right there in the showroom as there was no speakercable attatched.  ::)

not the best guitar showroom in so cal

LOL!

Well, if you're ever in the LA area, you should check out the West LA Music in Universal City.  They have a nice OLY WH JM on the wall with a great setup.  I played that on Saturday and actually wanted to go home and adjust MY guitar... It had no fret buzz, no fretting out on bends, and a really smooth feel and, cosmetically, a very nice dark rosewood board.  Had a decent ding in the front through the finish, which might make bargaining down in price a bit easier.

I've basically been doing all my business there for the past couple of years.  The GCs and Sam Ashs don't really barter so much anymore, and WLA Music will beat any street price out there... not by too much, but it is guaranteed.  Their guitars are almost always in tune right off the wall and really well set up, and it's not the "showroom circus" you get at the big retailers.  You can really plug in and try out as much as you want without any issues whatsoever.  The people are actually smart enough to recommend you plug into the clean channel of a tube amp so you can hear the character of the guitar...  I could have "named my price" on Saturday according to the kid in guitar sales, but I don't know enough about the pricing on the various Les Paul models right now, or even which model I really want (though *heavily* leaning toward the VOS '57 goldtop) so I passed up on the chance.

Cheers, brother!

Yep, but I'm proud to say that as of last fall we are now Wu-Tang approved.

My dealer lives in the shwa..
I also spent an evening in the Genosha above the now defunt Million
dollar salon (strip club) with a pair of peelers who worked/lived there

I was all about moving out there up until about 2 years ago..

Nice!  I've been to their West LA store and didn't know they had a location up there in UC.  Great store, but way too far away for casual shopping for me.  It's been a long time since I've purchased any new gear anyway.  Craigslist has been good to me lately.

Probably been posted already, but Laura-Mary Carter from Blood Red Shoes. They're kind of disposable bandwagon scenester pop that won't be around this time next year, but she's hot.  ;)

That's a pretty unfair thing to say, they've been doing it for a long while in BRS and various bands and are far from a manufactured flash in the pan band.
