Ha! did you actually sell it to Tim Rodgers? That's amazing!
nope, other way round
That's pretty cool man. I guess he just loves his JMs and Crockenbackers.
This was waaaaay before he started using Jazzmasters but probably around the time of the first Crockenbacker. Aside from the Tele Custom he was using a cherry 345 as his main live guitar

Here's a 1980 Greco Spacey Sounds I just got direct from Japan...

This might be my instant new favorite guitar. Everything about it is perfect. :w00t:
Also, hiding in the shot you can see a certain other Japanese Tele custom that I'm working on...

Don't knock the bedspread. It was mom's, and it's comfy and reminds me of home.

I keep posting this image, but what the hell. It includes my 77 Greco Spacey Sounds and my 83 Squier Tele Custom so it qualifies. The Squier will be buried with me I think.

Dunno if this counts but here's my CP Deluxe that I've been Custom-izing:

Image

Replaced the earlier run RI WRHB at the neck w/ one from a '78 and went to a Joe Barden Gatton at the bridge (along w/ new bridge, nut, & wiring) and it's a really cool blend.

Planning to get a Custom pickguard and tone ring to mount the bridge pup to on it sometime in the future.

My inspiration for this guitar:

D. Boon is one of my inspirations as well. He had a really nice Tele Custom.

Just picked this up in a trade. AVRI FSR '72 Custom. Not sure what year it is because I haven't taken the neck off yet but it's probably not more than a couple of years old. Had all the case candy (unopened) and still smells like cotton candy. I really, really like it and it sounds amazing.

But I'm kind of contemplating swapping it for a new MIM version (they're supposed to have the same pickups and re-worked WRHB?) and pocketing the difference. But I dunno... definitely the nicest guitar I've ever owned and closest to brand new I'll probably ever get. Then again if the MIM sounds the same and can be set up just as well... what would you do?

Time for an update/revival! :w00t:

My two 75ers - both have had quite a life, i can tell!

So apparently the Discocaster should still have its original sunburst underneath that paintwork, dunno if i should try to "salvage" it, refin it or let it be.
Bridge has been crudely routed for a humbucker

Another vote for keeping that finish. It reminds me of the backdrops you could use at mall photo stores in the 90s.

Hmm...
Btw it's not just black, it has glitter flakes.
I love glitter, but the neon stripes are kinda silly. But they're IN the finish, i mean, painted on... :fp:

It's a pity about the butchery down there, but maybe I'll get another WRHB and fully Deluxe it :D

I love it! I wouldn't change a thing. the butchery is sad, but I would rather fix that than the finish :)
