well, getting back on topic...
I went up to some music stores in the Nashua, NH area last night, and was poking around with some guitars. I'll admit I have a bit of a bias, I happen to really like the Faded Series Gibson stuff. I like how the finish feels on them (the poly feels better on Fenders to me, faded suits the gibson "block o' wood" thing imo), and they make some nice affordable wood chunks with p90s in 'em, so I've always had an interest.
This particular day I happened to get to try out some of the Faded Studio Mahogany guitars, and I have to say, I was pretty impressed. Normally I am really not much of an LP person (too heavy, awkward body shape for me, I like Specials better), or a humbucker person (too warm for my tastes usually) but I was really having a good time with this one. The weight and feel were pretty good, and it was definetly a fun play. Probably coud use a decent setup on it, but then again, what guitar couldn't right out of the store?
Seeing as I'm in the market for a Gibson-ish guitar right now, it's definetly added to the list
