Does anyone have any experience with Jerry Jones guitars?
I really like their XIIs...
It's like a Danelectro....That's not a cheapo.
It's no Fender XII, but it's an electric 12 string for around 1K.

This guy may or may not be the reason I'm interested in JJ XII's.

I have a Jerry Jones electric sitar. Dano vibe at four times the price. Kinda wish I'd held out until the Rogue version appeared.

BUMP!!! I'm really curious about these.
I'm thinking I'll either buy one of these or a $trat XII with my Tax refund. I'm also considering a DRRI...

I'd concur with this one...although i hate saying this, the strat XII is much more of a "real" guitar IMHO.
i never got the whole jerry jones thing with paying 1000$ what should be a 200$ guitar...

Nolan - If you don't have the cash for a Vintage Electric XII - I should go with the first wave of Japanese Strat XII's that came in the 80's (IIRC) - they have the Electric XII bridge and looks really great (for a $trat) - occationally they show up ebay - and maybe you should lurk the "used" section on Ishibashi. As second choice I think the new Japanese $trat XII' is (as said above) a better guitar than JJ's - for the money.
The Squire Venus XII is another guitar with the Electric XII bridge and that looks quiet cool IMO - also pretty rare....
Perhaps a vintage VOX XII or VOX XII clone is an option too - pretty Fender-like neck and electronics - a little odd bodyshapes (Teardrop/Phantom). I'm not into prices on those though.
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

I forgot about the Venuses (Venii?

)....
Those are cool, and I'd love to have one. Very rare, though.
I just want a XII string, and I can't spend too much. I may just wait for a Fender XII...

Then you should try a Dano and a Japanese Strat.

I got my Dano used for around $350
Needs a setup but sounds fun.. and definatly increased my Gas for a higher end 12.. (ricki, gretch or fender xii)..

I have had a '97 Jerry Jones baritone for a few years now. I bought it for $600 from a shop in NYC. I bought one of the Dano 56U2 reissues when they first came out. To me ears and hands, there is no comparison between the Dano and the Jerry Jones... the Dano was a crappy sounding and playing guitar in pretty much all respects. Maybe I had a dud.. I've never used one of the newer Danos though. I agree that the current prices on the JJ site are on the steep side, but based on the quality and sound of mine, I certainly wouldn't say that they are $200 guitars. Mine sees a lot of use and is definitely one that I'll never sell. It was worth every penny.

I've thought of that. Maybe seeing if reliablefender would part out a Strat XII, and buying the neck and bridge....Buy a Jazzmaster body from USACG without the routs for the bridge and tailpiece, and voila!!
