Show me your Guilds!

In preparation for a westerly made starfire IV, I want to hear/see about everyone's guilds! Not quite as popular as some of the other brands, but honestly from what I've played they've all been fantastic guitars. The korean ones too. But for american made hollow body guitars, they're CHEAP as hell, even the vintage ones.

SO SHOW ME

YOUR

GUILDS

+1

Fantastic!

What years are the white and black ones?

The black S-100 is from 1977, while the white is from '96/97. The latter was actually a standard black S-100 which I got redone in white & added the Guildsby. The lighter brown S-100 is a carved one.

S-100s (SG shaped) are actually slightly offset.

Goddamn that is an awesome collection. Do you have any of the korean models? I've actually heard really great things, but since most rhode island IV's are only a few hundred more than the newark models, I opted for the former. I'd love to pick up something like an x175 from the newarks, MIA models are waaay more expensive.

It's not mine anymore, but it's still a beauty.

Cool guitar, but just not for me. I sold it and bought my snakehead Bowery Pine Tele.

Thanks, I went a little overboard when the Aussie dollar was good. The M75 Arisocrat (sunburst, LP looking thing) is a Korean Newark Street model. Much cheaper than an original!! Nice guitar but I got the pickups rewound along with a magnet swap. Sounds great now. Also have another black Korean S-100 not pictured - very solid guitar and I prefer it's neck to the 70s models (as they are a little narrow/thin) and also to the 90s one (very flat neck radius, like 18" or something).

A beauty yes, similar to mine which is also a '61. Knobs slightly different in the colouring.

I'll chime in as well... Newark St. Starfire III. Replaced the mustard-coloured switch with a black one... Apart from that it's bone stock. I've lucked out on this one, as it is RESONANT. Others I've played were also very good, but nowhere have the acoustic oomph mine has. I also have a F30R from the New Hartford-era at my disposal.

Beauty. I'll post mine at the weekend, I left it up north.

Some seriously lovely guitars in this thread, though there can't be many left out in the wild with Zelja having caught them all.

:-* :-* :-* If I ever buy another semi-hollow guitar it'll be one of these.

I very nearly sold my Ultrasonic for a 60s Starfire II. Same non-stepped guard & dynasonics. Yours just happens to have the Guildsby (which I assume makes it a III).
I just checked the shop that was selling it & it's gone. It had been available for months with no takers (probably due to a body repair) but it seems someone finally went for it. I'm rather sad now.
