finally! my christmas/b-day gift!!! ("lawsuit" content)

Post by Pacafeliz » Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:16 am

so yeah... i've quickly broken the no-more-gear-cuz-of-the-baby spell. i haven't gotten myself nothing since october or so 6MONTHS OF UN-CURED GAS!!!  nothing for christmas! my b-day (29) was some days ago, acutally wow it's been like 2 weeks now already - nothing.

so when i saw this baby for $150 i said i just MUST do it.

it's a 70s "El Degas" (made in the infamous Ibanez "lawsuit" factory) Gibson ES-345 copy. i've never seen one in sunburst and with a 6-way varitone, most of 'em have just a 3-way.
REALLY nicely built and in GREAT shape for its age.

i haven't even plugged it in yet, the wife still doesn't know... but c'mon she just GOTTA understand. i've been selling lotsa stuff lately, i deserve it, don't i?!

i'll get back later when i get new strings on it and crank it a bit.
yeeeeee!!!

rock on!

Pat.

ps: here's another two just like it, but in red.

and

this one's finished but with lotsa pics to check the quality of these babies!!!

who knows maybe it's "super 70" pups in there?!
i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.

Really nice - You deserve it!  :P

I got an Ibanez ES335 clone from the same factory and era. Mines been modded almost to extinction though...  :(

BTW - That's not Sunburst - It's cherryburst, Isn't it?  ::)
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Pics from the sunburst thread:

Nice targetburst - it's been modified quite much (not tacky though):
- From neckheel to butt there's a wood block added (for stabilizing the wobbly "bolt on neck" construction, I guess) wich makes it very heavy.
- Non original pups (DiMarzio Superdist at bridge IIRC, wich makes it totally unplayable with amp turned up past 4 because of the feedback....).
- Vintage Hagström tuners
- gold non original TOM (the rest of the HW is chrome).
- Gibson Lyre trem (no arm at the moment) wich makes braking a string the worst thing on earth....

But I love it!  :D

of course you do - I think that comes as standard on the " change nice original pups to f**king DiMarzio Super Dist" mods....

:D

BTW - I'm guilty to the trem (the original trapeze is saved) and the repro guard.
