77 or 78 Univox Les Paul copy. I bought it for $40 in a thrift store in some random ass little town when I was driving through North Carolina. 8)

My second Electric guitar was an Encore, Les Paul copy.. with only one PUP
(the other one was ripped out.. ) and it was a dimarrzio(sp)

I found it at a fleamarket/swapmeet in Tucson Arizona.. the guy wanted $20 for it, but I talked him down to $15..

I sold it years later for $1..

hahahaa..

Hahaha! Damn, I thought $15 was the best deal ever, then I saw you sold it for $1!

Was it a bolt on neck?

(what a P.O.S.!!!)
Ha. I owned my first electric guitar when I was 14. It was a Marlin Sidewinder, basically a $trat copy - black with a white guard. I kept it for over a year even though I couldn't play a single chord. I thought guitars were cool at the time. Anyway, a friend came over & brought someone with him. The guy really liked the Sidewinder so we arranged to do a possible trade. He brought round his offering....

.....a Hondo II - sorry, no pictures.

....I went for it. I didn't know if it played any better. It was a Les Paul copy like yours. It was a natural finish with a darker stripe of wood through the middle (like a Dodge Viper. Heheheheheh). Its that guitar that I part exchanged for my '59 Jazzmaster although back then it was a '59 Jazzmaster with a smoke damaged Squier Strat neck & a black 70's guard. Still a good deal though looking back!!

It took me another 7 years to learn how to play the fucker!!!  :D
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

nice ones!!! keep 'em coming!

i think those old "butterly" pickups are worth quite a bit these days.

btw, the "lawsuit guitars" are the ones with the gibson "open book" headstock, the (wonderful) white lester is a post-lawsuit. just a note.  ;)

You may be right, but I almost couldn't care less.  I'll never part with that guitar or any part of it!  :D

And you're right about the "lawsuit" statement, but I do sort of lump all of those Ibanez/Fuji-Gen Gaki guitars into one big group because of the quality.  Which is of course superb.

Edwards E-LP-108LTS/RE, even though it has been modded and looks not that much like it was new. :D

I don't own all of these anymore (just the SG & Commodore) but I've had more lawsuit era guitars than anything else, Les Pauls, SGs, Teles, Strats, really great all of them.
