Awesome that he’s getting some recognition but... Eastwood.

With all the wankers who have signature guitars this is someone who really deserves it. So influential to the generation that came after. Sad he didn't live to see it, and is not more widely recognized. I wonder if his family will benefit from sales ? Or just a new profit line for Eastwood ?

Ironic that you could have scored McGeoch's for not much more money ...

Interesting that Eastwood can get that fretboard colour with pau ferro.

Ugh.., a knock-off a currently shipping guitar. Just what the market needed. How original :fp:
This kind of thing gets my goat. (Obviously)

Yamaha has, rather likely, the best quality control in the business. Eastwood, not so much. So, let’s attach a guy’s name to a knock-off and the ‘signatory’ is not even around to approve or deny the act. How goofy!

You can get an original Yamaha SG-1000, shipped from Japan via Ishibashi, for the same kind of money. The correct pickups and no questions about the neck-carve.

Exactly what I thought. I couldn't believe this when I saw it. I'm glad I snagged my '81 when I did.

Cool ! I've recently seen an original SG1000 and SG2000 locally for the first time. First impression was that they weighed a ton, esp the SG2000 (with brass sustain block).

Definitely. I had an SG1000 from 1980 and it was none too kind on my back. Wonderful thick neck and definitely a high quality instrument, but the way it hung on my body and the pickups didn't really suit me and I didn't want to ruin it by messing with strap button positions or changing out anything, so off it went.

Isn't that photo the classic Eastwood photoshop? Where they wang their logo on a photo of the real thing? Fuck that company into space, seriously.

Eastwood's excellent email marketing helped get me back into playing after a lengthy absence from guitars. Their guitars are super cool and iconic, but holy hell, their quality is abysmal. A friend left a Tuxedo with me for setup and repair and eventually just abandoned it. It's handily the crappiest guitar i own and that includes a standard series squier stratocaster that I bought for $100. it's insane that they go for the prices they do; many aren't appreciably better than the pawn shop specials that they're knocked off.
