Yeah, that happened to me too some years ago.

The fact is they are excellent instruments that sound great and do everything well. You can fight against that for as long as you want, but that simple truth will be there waiting for you regardless whenever you are ready to accept it.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Yep. It's true. All of it.

Strats are very useful instruments.

But they will always have ergonomics issues until they redesign the control panel and wind the middle pickup to have higher inductance so you can lower it to be flush with the pickguard while still getting a balanced signal level from it.
This is an excellent rectangle

.

Classic SSS?

Wait until you discover a Joyo American Sound pedal.

And the Armstrong Blender mod (wiring only change, SSS blends to HSH).

Maybe a Reverse Hendrix angle pickguard.

I still need to move the volume to the first tone pot hole.

isn't it amazing … when we first started OSG this thread most likely would have been flamed by 80% of the members (not me).

Strats are great
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

For the record, some of us get to have our strats and eat our Offset cake, too.

I love Strats. They're beautiful and sound wonderful.... Particularly in other people's hands. The Strat tone grates on my ears after awhile, for my own purposes, but I am constantly craving one...

So, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just can't get on with positions 2&4, I just hear cheesy 80's chorus-drenched wedding music whenever I hear that. The neck position of a strat, however, is up there with the neck position of a Jazzmaster as the most beautiful electric guitar tone I've ever heard, and the middle and bridge pickups on their own also have a particular charm for me. Adding the middle pickup in series makes for tones in positions 2&4 that I can accept. In fact, the only "blended" pickup tones I like from strats come from mods...neck & bridge is beautiful, and any multi-pickup series combo is useful if not my favourite. I guess that's why I mod any 3-pickup guitar so I can get at least some of those tones if not all.

I put a switch in my Legacy so I can have the neck and bridge pickup together.

Yeah, I always thought strats were boring, then I got a decent one and built another all within the space of a few months. Now I reckon they are probably the best designed guitar there is. I love them.
