I bought a Gibson-Baldwin SG used for 40eur - it's a cheap entry level guitar and it came without pickups, electronics and tuners... I did like the binding though and always wanted to have a greenish silver SG ... for 40 eur I couldn't resist
Here's the original guitar :
After roughing the finish up - ready for primer:
Covered the binding with masking tape for the colour coat (removed it before clear so the binding is flush with neck)
No pics of primer because boring
Sprayed the headstock black because... Gibson
Then applied 2 coats of silver green metallic on body and neck :
Assembled the guitar and installed GFS GF'Tron Alnico V pickups and Kluson Revolution Tuners in Creme/Mint :
After a fret level and new nut it plays really good and sounds very nice as well - really like those pickups... of course not as Filtertron as the real thing but for the price they are pretty decent I'd say !
