The Casino is a mysterious guitar to me. I have always revered it, probably because of the Beatles connection, but did not really like how it sounds. In hindsight I guess that is not surprising since I am ambivalent about Beatles' guitar tones from that era. The only one I had, an Inspired By John Lennon Revolution model, I sold within a week. It was beautiful in every way but just sounded tinny and anemic.
That said, these look good and are cheap, so why not. Maybe I'll get the olive or the black one.

They look very good. They got the new Epiphone headstock on there. I'd be interested in knowing more about them.
Gibson's new Epiphone strategy is to simply make the guitars be as good as what Gibson makes, only overseas. It's a good idea, and you can see Fender doing that also to a degree and of course G&L advertises the Tribute line as being the exact same guitar with the exact same components as the American made stuff.
These are probably very good guitars and will probably only sell for like $600 new... used, an even greater value.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Yeah that’s why I was saying they are cheap. They are cheaper than the normal production Casinos. My guess is that the “raw” finish saves costs and will likely look nothing like these pictures. Still, they are cheap enough to try.
I’ll get one and swap the P-90s for JM pickups, assuming someone makes Jm pickups in P-90 size.

Not gonna lie, that blueberry burst 335 could convince me to buy my first ever Gibson. That's just such an attractive price point. If I ever come across one used, it would be an instant buy for me.

Hmm. No more Sheraton. End of an era... until they reissue it next week.
It looks like they got new molds for the es line. No more melted in the microwave looking dots. These all certainly look the part (except bookmatch figuring always looks tacky on hollow bodies imho).
They've also got a bunch of all solid gibson acoustic models coming out for about 800.
What a frigging time to be a beginner. You can get a correct looking 335. You can an f'n jazzmaster! Or any other offset you can think of. Goodness.

If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

They've been out for a while, and that Excellente would be something I would like to find used. I have a Dove and all, but that Epiphone would really be something I could leave out to a degree with the kids around.

They've added a straight up j45, hummingbird, and j200 esque thing in all solids too. I kinda stopped paying attention to epiphone. They've been busy little bees.Larry Mal wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 6:13 pmOther than these ones?seenoevil II wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 5:47 pm

I don't know if you saw, but Epiphone also is doing a Made in the USA Casino this time around. 63/64 style small headstock, sunburst comes with black pickup covers, royal tan comes with chrome covers. Price point of $2,700 - pretty damn high for an Epiphone if you ask most people, but these will likely be killer. Hoping to grab a used royal tan model eventually for a good deal. Curious to see how well these are received.
The Rivieras piqued my interest as well, not a bad price for what will likely be a pretty nice guitar. It's cool to see these part of the current offerings again - I don't really see them super often on the used market.

That's what I also noticed. I hope they're bringing out a Sheraton III then, with the correct mini-humbuckers (the full-sized buckers never scratched my itch). Give it an option for the Tremotone, and we're golden!seenoevil II wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 5:47 pmHmm. No more Sheraton. End of an era... until they reissue it next week.

Also there's a Crestwood with mini-humbuckers and a Tremotone.
Colour me impressed.
