Hmm. No more Sheraton. End of an era... until they reissue it next week.
That's what I also noticed. I hope they're bringing out a Sheraton III then, with the correct mini-humbuckers (the full-sized buckers never scratched my itch). Give it an option for the Tremotone, and we're golden!

I don't know the old Epis that well, but seeing as the Tremotone is coming back into production, wouldn't you be really close to this (sans the cool headstock inlay) by adding one of those to one of the new Rivieras?

Riviera to Sheraton is the same as ES345 to ES355.
Same guitar different levels of bling (inlay, binding, gaudiness-gold parts, more up market tuners)
Everything else was the same … pickups (mHBs), knobs (gold or black reflector knobs) , bridge.
Some variation in available finishes, more than likely due to the much lower sales numbers of the Sheraton compared to the Riviera.
There is no Epiphone equivalent of the ES335 (ie entry level)

The Riviera came with either the Frequensator or the tremotone.
The Sheraton had these as well as the bigsby option.

the world is a better place with these models now available again.

I hope the Sheraton II specifically isn't gone gone. For a few reasons.

The neck was laminated maple and walnut with no scarf joint, so it was way less likely to break. The center block was mahogany as opposed to maple and between this and the neck, the guitar did have slightly different tone to the otherwise identical dot model. Plus they're handsome.

I need another epiphone like I need a hole in the head. But that faded casino is giving me the eye.
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

I always wanted a cherry MIK Riviera. That Sparkling Burgundy might even be better. :-*

WoW I LOVE the new riviera looks. I have the feeling that I need that guitar. Like, really need it. I haven't had that feeling in years haha. I wonder why they put the inlays on the wrong way??

Yeah, I like that Riviera like, a lot. Maybe when they filter down to used and all.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Technically the ES-330 was the entry level to that lineup as I understand it, so the Casino would be the Epiphone equivalent. I'm really splitting hairs here, though.

While I love casinos (I have one), i'm not really digging those finishes too much. The rivieras on the other hand look amazing! :? :? :?

That blueberry flame maple finish looks like something you would see on an ugly, yet fancy $10K ergonomic bass, or some over the top Gibson CS build.
I love it on the ES body though, and I can't pin down why that is.

That finish is like Florence Pugh. Apparently people find it appealing to look at, but I do not get it.

point taken and hair split … but I always take ES330/Casino as being fundamentally different guitars. Fully hollow and with totally different pickups, not forgetting the positioning of the neck to the body factor.

If one analyses the 60s Epiphone range, they often didn't have the lower level models that Gibson had (acoustic or electric). Less model range but what they had was often higher up the ladder. Yeah it's trainspotting but interesting as well given when Epiphone now is and has been.

I saw one in person. It was a Gibson CS model, but it was the same finish. I thought it was hideous in photos, but it really had a nice organic look in person.

Isn't the Epiphone Dot a 335?

Yes, but a more spartan one (thinner binding around the body, no binding around the fretboard). But the Dot wasn't made in the "golden era" of the 1960's.
