This is awesome!

I'd vote for an original wraparound bridge on there, but no trem, but it's your guitar, and amazing with this or any other hardware. Specials are so much cooler than Standards, aren't they?

That’s a sweet SG. I have a mid 2000s Classic that follows the specs of this guitar pretty closely except for having the big pick guard and a tune-o-mastic bridge.

I love these things so much (similarly a big Who fan). There's an Australian guitarist called Davey Lane who used one for years and always got great sounds out of one too.

For what could verry well be someone's only guitar I think the 2 P90 SGs are seriously overlooked. This one's a dream. Enjoy.

Specials are the coolest. Pete Townshend approved, after all.

I've been looking and since the studs are offset, the bridge would be 50's style one, without the lightning bolt.

Thanks!

I've had an SG Classic since around 2009, and pimped it out to get it as close to a vintage one. FTR, the Classic has a much chunkier neck.

Lollar P-90s, Emerson wiring harness, and a Faber ABR bridge & tailpiece are all on it now. It's a keeper, or it was until now. :D

I do love chunky necks. :-*
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Thanks, guys!!!!!

It plays like BUTTAH, too.
All killer!

The necks on SGs (and Epiphones) from that era are incredible - probably my favourite neck profile ever. I've even played one that was broken in half (not a headstock break - actually busted in half) and repaired and it was still amazing.

That bridge is a Leo Quan Badass. Pretty much every SG got one of those during the 70s and 80s (even into the 90s) because the original bridge isn't intonated properly for an unwound G. They're not pretty but they work really well. If you're planning on putting the tail piece back on (which can help with balance) you could replace it (take a look at http://www.mojoaxe.com) but it will definitely do the job.

I'm really tempted to go with the mojoaxe, with the idea of maybe finding a proper vibrola down the road.

Don’t knock any lamps over practicing your windmilling.

I hope you don’t mind me going off topic but I have an 08 SG Classic and I’ve been having a hard timing finding aftermarket p90s for it. It seems no one makes soapbar p90s with mounting tabs that mount in a batwing sg pickguard. How are your Lollars installed in your Classic? Are they mounted in the pickguard or are they screwed in the body like normal soapbars?

Beautiful vintage SG BTW :)

I just did a normal soapbar mount, leaving two holes in the pickguard of the SG Classic batwing pickguard.
