Aria RG 680
But i sold it.
Now, I can't afford another one. So instead, I got a 680 because ricosound is important. Well, it's not really that important, but its cool to have... Yes, my models are correct... Just wait for the pics.

Re: I used to own a 620 with the ricosound
I’m more than a little curious here. I know what a 620 is. I know what a 660 is. What in the world is a 680? We need pics, and a really thorough OSG style explanation!

It doesn't need to be a Rickenbacker... Very likely we're talking about the RG-680, the Japanese copy from the late 1970's.

Yes, an Aria Pro II copy. The one above is missing the tailpiece and the truss rod cover though. Pics coming soon.

Well, it does have the ric-o-sound! So I dig.
How does it play?

I just finished setting it up to taste, and i gotta say im happy.Cornelius Plum wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 4:24 pmWell, it does have the ric-o-sound! So I dig.

The pickups have a lot of bass in the middle and neck, which i like. The bridge pu is trebley. A cool guitar indeed.
Compared to my old 620? I bought that brand new, and to be honest, i don't remember what is different..
The ricosound, i don't even know how the cable works, but i ill look it up and make a cable.

Re: Aria RG 680
Cool guitar! Although, I'm sure you're going to hear from the Rickenbacker corporation soon.
I have a 360. To tell you the truth, I never once used the ric-o-sound.
But, hey, I'm happy it's there: see, whenever someone brags about how awesome their guitar is, I always ask if the guitar has ric-o-sound. And when they say no, I'm all pfff, your guitar ain't that big of a deal.
Your guitar may have fancy-schmancy pickups hand-made by some hermit, but mine has ric-o-sound! I win!

Re: Aria RG 680
I knew Aria Pro II did Fender and Gibson copies, but not Rics. Does it have a narrow fingerboard like a "real" Rickenbacker?

Re: Aria RG 680
Ill measure it tomorrow, doesn't feel particularly narrow to me, but then again i like narrow.
The serial number dates it to 1973 btw.

Re: Aria RG 680
Thank you, thank you..
So the width at the nut is 43.4 mm. The 620 is 41. 4 mm.
