IMHO, this is the best designed bass Gibson has ever released (with the EB-0 a close second).
If I had a reason to have a second bass, and a spare <gasp> $1800, I'd have a pelham blue specimen in a heartbeat!
This is precisely the sort of guitar that would make me feel good just strapping it on!

That is a great looking bass. I have always really loved non-reverse Firebirds.

I certainly love the colour … I wonder if Gibson have ever asked themselves "are we losing sales because our colour pallet is shite?"

They actually have a great amount of colors, it seems that they just hold some in reserve so that it's exciting when you see something else.sookwinder wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 7:01 pmI certainly love the colour … I wonder if Gibson have ever asked themselves "are we losing sales because our colour pallet is shite?"
This Inverness Green that I pictured is just fantastic, you have to wonder why it's not in regular production. I guess then it wouldn't be exciting. Same with Pelham Blue.
And this line does have a Pelham Blue, a faded sort of thing, that I'm not wild about.
But I hear you... when I first bought my Firebird, my choice was black, sunburst, or some kind of white.
Like, wow. Later on there were great reds and blues and greens, but I didn't get any of those to pick from.

This might actually be one of those times where something ends up on the block to fund this one. I feel I might buy it new, which I rarely do, because I do not feel these will be in production very long.
Last time Gibson did a run of non-reverse Thunderbirds, they were worse than these, and they sold out quickly and rarely show up used.

Welp, Gibson's website is effed on mobile so I can’t check it out, but from your pic I do like the look of this. Inverness needs to be out there more so I support it on that tip too…
Now if they’d just quit it with the “non-reverse” nonsense…

Everytime anyone talks about Inverness here, I'm reminded of this non-reverse bird and I get happy.
Just look at the checking on this bastard
Back on topic, that bass looks great. If you believe they won't be in production long, I agree it's worth moving some things to get.

Come on, they are taking offers... I have no doubt that you can get them down to $17,775.smjenkins wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 8:21 pm

Absolute beauty of a bass. I'm kind of glad Gibson prices these well out of reach of impulse buying. I always associate the non-reverse Thunderbirds with Mike Watt, who I believe used to play them.
