Thanks, guys! Plaintops are the best, no Joe Bonamassa vibe (no dis on Joe, just his fans' obsessions with flame).luau wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:24 amCongrats!
I like plain tops too and this one is awesome.tequila_in_teacups wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:26 pmThat's nice. The hardware is aged nicely. I frequently prefer a nice plain top to flame.

I am inordinately pleased with this one. It's pretty much magic.

This man is correct. Granted I wish mine didn't weigh 10 pounds.

Mine's gotta be more than that. A Bigsby doesn't generally help with guitar weight...stevejamsecono wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:34 pmThis man is correct. Granted I wish mine didn't weigh 10 pounds.

Mine is right around 8lbs. About the same as my JM Jag.

Not only is that a stunning looker, but those 70s-90s Japanese LPs are dreamy guitars. I'd take them over several Gibsons I've played.

Sorry. Didn’t mean to derail or take away from the NGD. Those early 90s Pauls had always been touted by my circle of friends. I just genuinely didn’t realize the quality was an issue back then. Your NGD is beautiful and it’s giving me GAS for something I didn’t know I wanted. I should have commented with that the first time.

Re: NGD: 1989 Greco Les Paul
I only had one guitar, Skippy, my Stratocaster, until 1999, so the only Gibsons I'd ever touched were Norlin-era ones. I made an assumption that Gibson was still in the doldrums in '89.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 5:16 pmSorry. Didn’t mean to derail or take away from the NGD.
