Never owned one, but my ex's roommate had one and I noodled around on it. They're not for me, but they are really unique and I could see how one could bond with a Rick and then nothing else will ever scratch the itch.

As much as I don't love that they're forever out of my price range, I do admire somewhat that the company is staying as a closely-held family-owned affair and keeps just cranking out small #'s built by their small team in CA.

Nice 360. Love the checking. I do like them in Jetglo the best, though an aged Mapleglo is pretty sweet too. But I do like the Beatles, particularly when they started with the drugs.

For the record you can get the 330 body shape with the 360’s binding and triangle inlays etc. in the 360WB.
I bought one in the early ‘90s. I liked the look of the toasters so swapped the hi-gains for them. It was a mistake and I switched them back. The hi-gains have more punch while still sounding chimey and like a Rickenbacker should.

Yeah, I stumbled across the 360WB while researching but they don't seem too common, and more than I was looking to spend. Maybe in the future if I really enjoy the one I've ordered.

The checking is kinda crazy, I wonder if it was a special order. Mine's from 1982 and has dulled a bit, binding has yellowed but zero checking. Admittedly it's been pampered.

Very beautiful guitar. I'm very much so a big fugazi fanboy, recently been getting into Guy's other projects such as Rites of Spring and One Last Wish. Never in my life have I considered a Rick though. Almost got a walnut epiphone sg though so I guess thats the opposite of you lol.

I know they use a varnish instead of nitrocellulose so it's unusual. The only thing that would make sense of the checking is some extreme temperature changes like a winter tour of Europe or something. It's certainly not got the trademark pattern of fake checking (freeze spray for instance). I'm going to see if I can get the details of the original owner and ask.

I’ve got a 360 in red pillar box and it’s a great guitar. Pretty hot pickups for single coils, in the bridge position it has a similar growl as my LP Junior. Really fun with the ric-o-sound cable so you can play in stereo with separate amps for each pickup.

I doubt I'll have much use for the stereo output until it comes to recording - then I might make use of it as I tend to double amp things when tracking guitars anyway.

Just gotta wait for Ireland to get over their St Patricks day weekend hangover and ship it out :D

Wow. It's beautiful. I recently watched a live REM concert from 1985 and Peter Buck made me want another Rick (had two 12s in the mid 90s).

So the shop I bought from have agreed to give it a setup to my tastes (12-54's in Eb Standard) which is going to add another day or two to the wait. That coupled with it being St Patricks Day over this weekend just gone (it's coming from Dublin) means I likely wont see this until mid-to-late next week now. A bit of a bummer but I'm more patient than I used to be and it saves me having to fuck about trying to learn how to set up a Rickenbacker and its double-truss weirdness straight away.

Yeah hearing tales of fretboards popping off when you do it wrong, it kinda turns one off dual truss rod adjustment.

That's mainly for the old ones. (But a real thing). Supposedly you just need to adjust the neck by hand and then use the truss rods to stabilize it (rather than using them to change the relief). Most techs in Seattle know how to handle them (and one of the old Rickenbacker employees is up in Snohomish)

I think I heard pre 1984 Ricks were more problematic, which is bad for me but thankfully not a need. I had it set up at the old Al's Guitarville (if you remember that place) way back when.
