Show your Hagstroms
I got this Hagstrom Retroscape Impala a few Weeks ago and i love this Thing. Had one a few Years back but stupidly got rid of it.
Offsets really start to bore me somehow, and i was looking for some other weird Shapes and the Impala came back to mind.
That Guitar sounds like nothing else i own (JM, Mustang, Jag, Doheny, Tele's) with all these Filter-Switches.
I think I'm obsessed with Hag's now.
It looks pretty huge, but it's actually not much bigger than a Telecaster.

Hags never seem to get much love. They're definitely quirky!
I have the '67 Viking II reissue. It's a great guitar and looks stunning. Definitely an affordable alternative to a Coronado or other mid-range ES style guitars. I love the six-in-line headstock.

Re: Show your Hagstroms
Here’s mine, a modern Viking bass:
I’ve only played modern hagstroms, and not many of them, but I have enjoyed all of them. With more money and space I’d have a Pat Smear signature and a baritone Viking as well, and probably some of those retroscapes. I like how they have kept their heritage models pretty well defined, and built on them for the more varied modern Swedes and Vikings.

Stripped '67 Viking
70s (?) III with an ancient II neck - it was cheaper than having the original one refretted
i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.

Re: Show your Hagstroms
I was in a band that endorsed Hagstrom for a while. The H-2's and 3' we had were utilitarian and really boring despite looking cool. Really flat, wide necks- not nice. However we had a Swede with a trem that was actually great- until our singer smashed it onstage.
We've got a bunch of Hag's at our shop and NO ONE is interested for some reason. I think maybe they don't quite have the lore to shift them as easy as a lot of dealers were expecting.

Re: Show your Hagstroms
I once had a black Viking (with the 3 by 3 headstock - the new one with the 6-in line and block inlays looks amazing!)
It had really aggressive pickups and the most wonderful controlled feedback - that I gladly captured on a song of my old band.
I sold it to fund my Liquid Thunder Jazzmaster build… it didn‘t get much play time once I had the Thinline Jag ready.
Over the years I was g.a.s.-ing for various Hagströms -
First Swedes and Super Swedes… later the Deuce and the Viking…which I loved - but playing the F200P destroyed all this. Such a cool looking but absolutely shitty guitar (at least the one I played).
Years later I fell in love with the looks of vintage HIIs, HIIIs and HIINs. And for some reason Hagström guitars still remain affordable vintage guitars.
But as I don‘t like Strat Jacks - I always thought about ways to mod them - to suit me better… maybe I‘ll end up building a Hagström inspired guitar.

I also thought about getting a F200P in White Years ago. Until i had one in Hand in a Music-Store.

Re: Show your Hagstroms
Always wanted to try more of them. Played a reissue Suede a while back that was nice but don’t get exposed to them very much otherwise
