What caps should I use?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

I'd check for 500k pots first. Some have gotten 300ks and even 100k tones. No-load tone pots might be worth looking into too. Of the caps I've had experience with in Gibsons, ceramic disc, orange drops, Jensen paper/oils, and Hovlands, I'd say the Hovlands are your best bet. I'd describe them as sounding noticeably clearer than the others. But, if you've got low value pots, you'll get more mileage out of replacing them then you will replacing the caps.
Bigger in sum than parts.

I've got 500k pots. The caps are these cheap looking brown squares.
I've got a couple of orange drops I was saving for something else. I might just drop them in it.
