remember last time you make impulse buy?
i was looking some guitar store and i have buy this
at my surprise too cause as i am not a strat fan ? but i find the color so cool and for the price why not ?
https://www.fender.com/en-US/squier-ele ... 02511.html
but it was SSH and i dislike it ,but the SSS don't come in this color! :fp: i prefer SSS then one guard snap and putting 3 alnico 5 pups later
tada
Image
seriously the quality price is good ,just end of fret need a little sanding cause they are little rought but it play good with 9 46 string (i ask the store 1046 cause the string were rotten but they put 946 instead and i have dicover du to breackage ) ,will put 10 46 as i have already broke the 9 du to tuning detuning for pups installation then now it have a 10 for E treble
it is really easier to play than my others guitar who have 10 52 and highter action then i will resetup my other for less hight and maybe 1046 too
at rehearsale it sound pretty good , clearer than my jazzmaster maybe need a little dirt box to crunch more
even the guys who i play with says that cool

For a second I thought that was a MIM Powerhouse strat, because of the pearl guard. Cool guitar! Congrats!

That color is really lovely!!! Fantastic find!!!

You said you changed the pickups already? Did you change all 3, or just upgrade the bridge to a single coil?

thanks
i have change the 3 to have something more vintage in the sound ,they were fleor at 26 € no staggerd alnico 5 ,5 kohm in middle and neck and 6kohms at brigde
the originals in middle and neck were not bad but 12 kohms ceramique ,i have put a fender one at 6,7 kohms alnico 5 in bridge that i have in spare(don't know what it is , big pole?) but the magnet polarity was wrong and have the same polarity as the middle ,then need to invert ground and signal to avoid out of phase ,i have try to put the middle in neck and vice versa but pole spacing are different 48 to 50 mm and it looks wrong then i have buy this cheapo set and it sound like i want really clean ;) i have to play a little with height cause at this time i am at 3,5 mm to bass side and3 mm to treble side i think i can put them less far
they are not boutique pups but as i don't want to spend more on pups than the guitar it work ok ,i have think to buy toneriders surfaris but the squier sonic at 180 euro plus toneriders at 110 euros plus guard at 15 € :fp: is more or less a classic vib then why buy this one ?
for the color only :fp:

Entwistle as57 are a great single coil

Only had experience with a couple of boutique brands but I prefer these..

I don't know if he would, or what the shipping costs to France would be, but what about some pickups from Jerry Sentell/Sentell Pickups? If shipping isn't too bad, his pickups are VERY affordable.

You might wanna look for a set of Tonerider pickups.
I'm not a strat fan, just have only one with a set of Tonerider "Surfari" Alnico 3 pick ups.
The set was € 80,- new (although some years ago)

honnestly, the only set of Strat pu's I ever liked so far. (also the only reason why I'm hanging on to this strat as it sounds really good....)

I like the Surfaris set a lot. I'm not really a strat player as most of the time I find them to trebly, thin sounding.
But since I have a Jazzmaster with a set of Monty '59's with alnico 3 magnets, I got interested in trying something simelar in the strat.
Since the Toneriders were not too pricey, I went with them. I really like how the sound, full, more bottom and kind of vintage.
I like the fact the slightly beefed up the bridge pick up just a little, so it can compete with the neck and middle ones.
It sounds really good now and play it a lot more then I used too.
