Incoming NGD
After months and months of no new gear, I have a new (used) guitar on the way.
This particular guitar has been customized, so the model # is unknown, just guess the brand and model family.
It's a Japanese brand.
It has six strings.
It has a bound Rosewood fretboard with some distinctive inlays.
It is going to look out of place in my collection.

Les(s) round.
Hint, it was not very expensive.

It is an RG-something!
It had a custom re-fin, so the factory markings are gone. It also has had a pro fret level and crown job already. I've never had a Floyd Rose equipped guitar, so thought I'd get one to learn how to do setups on those. I also wanted something with HH pickups to put a Dimarzio Super2/SuperD set in. This was under $275 with tax, which seems like a bargain to me.

Yeah! Nice color!
Always cool to find an interesting (new) aspect in an instrument.

My first Fender (and second guitar) was a Floyd-equipped MIM Stratocaster. They can be a ton of fun, and equally as finnicky to maintain.
It taught me a lot about setting up guitars, and I give it credit for teaching me the patience I would need later in life when I started setting up my first offsets.
If nothing else, it will make you come to appreciate non-Floyd string changes a lot more!

I don't have it yet. It should be here mid-week. I expect it to be a thin neck (Wizard II?). I generally prefer a chunky neck, but I'm pretty adaptable. I'll be using much thinner strings than usual as well. I like when an instrument makes me change my approach.

Re: Incoming NGD
I have the guitar in hand. The neck is thin. It's thinner than my Talman, which has always been my thinnest neck. I immediately tried tuning it, using the keys on the headstock . I already took my guitar tools over to my new house (but am still in a rental), so I don't have any Allen wrenches available. No shredding for me tonight.
The finish has some orange peel, but that was visible in the listing. It's a great true orange though. I'm doubtful that the frets were leveled and crowned, cause they are kind of dirty. Speaking of, 24 frets is at least seven more than I ever use.
Time to do a deep dive on working with a Floyd Rose system.
