Valueing a Jazz Bass

Post by Array » Wed Jul 16, 2008 2:21 pm

Anyone have any idea of a ball park figure of the value of a Mexican Fender Jazz Bass bought around 2001 ? Looking at the completed listings on ebay seems they don't fetch very much?

I'm in the UK so £ estimates, thought I can figure conversions. The market in the US or other parts of the world may bear different prices though?

Yeah the MIM series seem to take a fair old dive when it comes to s/h value. Part of the reason is the increasing quality of the squiers, while the MIM just increased in price (rrp anyway), and the online retailers othering some pretty good deals on new stock.

I would say that £250 is somewhere near what you'd be looking at. The rrp is currently around £450, but you can get them new from GAK for £330ish, so your range will probably be 220-250.

I haven't checked ebay listings so I'm guessing a bit, but I did sell a MIM tele recently and had the same problem.
