Buy a real one for less than $4k and it wouldn't be all shiny like that one.
Destiny's in her evening gown; you're always running late.
You tell her she looks wonderful but she'll just have to wait.

Thanks Jay!

Got a bit of work to do:

- Go through electrics
- Fix / replace pickguard (Anyone know how to flatten a warped PG?)
- Get a 72 3 bolt serial plate
- Replace dodgy string tree(s)
- Neck pocket is dodgy, routed somewhat, so I should restore that.

Still, I'm not complaining for $1650 delivered to my door in OZ! :)

Lucky duck! I always wanted one of those. I'm a fan of Coldplay(yeah, that's right!) and I've always loved the sounds he would get from his vintage thinlines.

It would be great if Jason Lollar or Curtis Novak would make vintage widerange humbuckers for Fender deluxe/custom/thinline Telecasters so people can upgrade their MIM/CIJ reissue's. Does any other company than Fender actually make them at the moment? (like Duncan or Fralin?) If not, why the hell not?! (because they have 'fender' engraved on the covers?)

The fact that the original ones sound better and there's not much you can do about it (not unless you buy the original pickups for a ridiculous amount of money) is the only thing that keeps me from buying a reissue.

It came from the wonderful world of fleabay. Here's the auction with some disassembled shots:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1

Yes, it's rather a prominent lip. In the photo below, there are 2 mysterious holes in the neck and body that dont go all the way through. I don't know the idea behind it all.
