My new DeArmond

Post by Jez » Mon Mar 12, 2007 3:36 pm

Just got a champagne sparkle M75-T to go with my Starfire...

Image

Sorry for the shit picture, but i've only got my phone at the moment...

I've got a 5-ply pickguard and Gretsch switches on order at the moment. I am also planning on upgrading the tuners on both guitars, and possibly changing the 2K pickups on the M75-T. They sound a lot like P90s. I may change them to DeArmond 2000s which are a good deal more twangy. The 2K at the neck is way too dark at the moment.

I do love these guitars, I'm really wanting to get a T400 or Starfire special next...

T-400... Yum! I don't think many were made tho...

Yeah, am seriously considering getting the 2000s now... As ever, the problem is cashflow...

I would love a blue sparkle... One came on eBay just after I bought this one...

Wow. They look so good. How do they sound?

I am gonna go for the 2000s when I can. The 2Ks are just not me - too washy, not enough definition or sparkle. I am all about jangle and sparkle...  :)

This is the T-400 picture I was looking for earlier... Just amazing... I really want to get hold of some of those Rickenbacker knobs...

Hey, wow!  That is my guitar.  How did you find this photo???  It is in my backhouse loft right now.  This particular guitar was my pet project for quite awhile.  I modded it quite a bit.  The pickguard is from scratch, for example.  And notice the f-hole binding also.  (The bummer is that the input jack came loose and needs resoldering so it is silent at present.)  But it is a killer guitar nonetheless. My upcoming summer fun will be to get the electronics completely re-done.  I'll keep you posted.

Well, here is the whole directory:

Beautiful guitar. I like the Guild Starfire too. I should have gotten one years ago.
Great sound and playability too.
