Whenever i see your demo videos, my internal monolog goes something like this:

Oh yeah, that’s nice…i could do that….
Mmm that’s a tasty riff…interesting…..i could probably do that….
Oh what? I don’t think i could do that…..
Holy fuck! How did he do that?
Wow….this is cool…what style is this anyway…..
Shit….i’m hopeless at guitar.

Agree on the pickups - they sound great.

I’m wondering how someone has managed to trash a thick poly finish so much.

here's my quick demo
your playing is incredible.

I don't think i'll ever muster up the courage to put up a video of me playing after watching that.
Hey, thanks a ton! 😊 But hey, don't let that stop you. We all start somewhere, right? Just share your stuff when you feel it. It's all about having fun. Can't wait to see you jam out too!

haha thanks :D

I think this look, resulting from an attempt to stop the flaking process, looks really cool.

I just got this cool worn '77 mocha brown strat in a trade. It came with Fender Hot Noiseless pickups in it - I was never a fan, but I love it! I was really surprised how good they sound and how much it still retains that 70s bite. It's also the lightest 70s strat I've ever had, about 3.7 kg (8 pounds)

this thing is pretty beat, but feels so cool!

Nice demo, really dig that bit on the bridge pickup

After selling my AV65 Strat for the 2nd time to buy a new interface... I am now getting it back AGAIN.
There's just something about it- it feels more sophisticated than my offsets and Tele. It's a perfect weight, it's aged beautifully. You never see the AV65's in the UK and I just couldn't bare the thought of someone else buying it haha. So it'll take a few months to pay for it, but I'm looking forward to actually giving it some proper attention.

Late 70s Fender finishes are unbelievably poor. I once cleaned a black 78 Musicmaster with ordinary alcohol and had to stop because I realised the finish was softening and beginning to wipe off.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, but my personal rule of thumb is to never sell an appreciating piece of gear to buy a depreciating one.

I’d like to upgrade my interface soonish, but it’s going to involve selling a lot of smaller stuff which I’m not really looking forward to. The having less clutter part sounds good though.

That’s actually a very good point, and also further justifies why I need the Strat back 😂

I recorded a more thorough demo showcasing the noiseless pickups - I think they get some undeserved flak, since they sound pretty cool.

here's the demo, It's divided by sections for easier navigation

Not sure what you expected from noiseless pickups. Sorry. Seems fine for me.

Hey.

I said in another thread that I have difficulty to bound with Strats, but ever since, I was hunting for another one. I bought 3 days ago a FSR Professionnal ii Strat. It have an ahs body, roasted maple neck (really like the neck on this one) and custom shop texas special pickups that I prefer to V-Mod. Great guitar, except the weight... It's a 8,6 lbs. It seems heavy for a Strat. Normally, I fancy light guitar. Do you think it's to heavy for a Strat; is it a return candidate?

My last strat was an Ash American Standard and it too was heavy. Ash ain't light. I also just didn't love the guitar in general, it was very very bright, even after I put in some hotter pickups to replace the stock Fat 50s.

I have a CS Ash Tele that is very light. I had a CS Ash Strat that was fairly light also. But I think the CS still use Swamp Ash while Fender must be using a heavier type of Ash. I went to another shop that have the exact same guitar; it is 8,2 lbs.
