I just got this cool worn '77 mocha brown strat in a trade. It came with Fender Hot Noiseless pickups in it - I was never a fan, but I love it! I was really surprised how good they sound and how much it still retains that 70s bite. It's also the lightest 70s strat I've ever had, about 3.7 kg (8 pounds)

After selling my AV65 Strat for the 2nd time to buy a new interface... I am now getting it back AGAIN.
There's just something about it- it feels more sophisticated than my offsets and Tele. It's a perfect weight, it's aged beautifully. You never see the AV65's in the UK and I just couldn't bare the thought of someone else buying it haha. So it'll take a few months to pay for it, but I'm looking forward to actually giving it some proper attention.

Late 70s Fender finishes are unbelievably poor. I once cleaned a black 78 Musicmaster with ordinary alcohol and had to stop because I realised the finish was softening and beginning to wipe off.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, but my personal rule of thumb is to never sell an appreciating piece of gear to buy a depreciating one.

I’d like to upgrade my interface soonish, but it’s going to involve selling a lot of smaller stuff which I’m not really looking forward to. The having less clutter part sounds good though.

It have an ahs body, roasted maple neck (really like the neck on this one) and custom shop texas special pickups that I prefer to V-Mod. Great guitar, except the weight... It's a 8,6 lbs. It seems heavy for a Strat. Normally, I fancy light guitar. Do you think it's to heavy for a Strat; is it a return candidate?

I have a CS Ash Tele that is very light. I had a CS Ash Strat that was fairly light also. But I think the CS still use Swamp Ash while Fender must be using a heavier type of Ash. I went to another shop that have the exact same guitar; it is 8,2 lbs.
