Paul Reed Smith Guitars

Post by 1946dodge » Sun Mar 25, 2007 9:09 am

I was wondering if any of you know of a PRS fan site like ours?
You know with enthusiasts and players who know and love the guitars?

I have one, a Soapbar SE model I won and it is wonderful. If their Korean models are that good, I can imagine how good their American made expensive stuff is.
the SE Korean stuff goes for under 600 bucks, the corresponding US made stuff for well over 1000.

Thanks
Ed

Absolutely, Birds And Moons is the place, a very friendly and well run site.

They've been around for ages, long enough that they've budded off another forum which is now bigger than them, The Gear Page (link via BAM).

Birds and Moons.

Cmatthes should chime in on these.  He's been to the factory a dozen or more times (he's dragged me along a few times) and they refinished his Les Paul.  He's also been a PRS owner since 1989.  We both played some of the first ones out in 1985 at a little shop in North Carolina that was one of the first in the country to get the line (Sam Moss in Winston Salem).  They were mind-blowing guitars in '85.  Also mind bending prices for the time!

I'm actually going back to the factory next month and trying to drag Serial along.  BAM is a nice site.  Well run and a lot of good info.
My 80s Custom is a KILLER guitar - I love it - great guitars (at least mine is!):

I actually have a PRS 1/2 stack from '89 that I air out on a regular basis:
