Posted elsewhere, but I guess this belongs here.
I picked this up last year in a bit of a state, it's currently with my repair guy for a refret.

haha :D here you go

the 1M pots make it sound very sharp. I dig the sounds you can get from it just from lowering the volume, sounds a bit out of phase, but it clearly isn't !

Excellent as expected, and some great tones you squeeze out of that beauty. Very nice. Was similarly surprised to hear how bright it remained with tone as low as half, maybe the 1M or just how it’s cap’d ?

Insane playing, as always. Kinx demos are the best.

I have one of the '50s Classic lacquer Telecasters and it has become my favorite guitar that I have. I don't know what it is about it, but it just feels 'right'. A few years ago, I put some Duncan '55s in it and all new pots/wiring/switch/etc at the same time. They are perfect for what I wanted... not too refined.. nice and trebly bridge, but with a bit of muscle.. fat and round neck. And I LOVE the neck pickup tones. It makes a perfect pair with a Fuzz Face and MkIV. It is showing some wear and tear these days. I just noticed that the lacquer has a couple of tiny places on the treble edge of the fretboard where I've worn through. I'm pretty proud of that 8) :D .

That's a great looking Tele, Justin!

Getting the right pickups in a Tele totally transforms the guitar...I love them on the hotter side too, tames the treble a bit in my experience. 8)

I concur. I have a set of Texas specials from the late 80’s in one, and a set of Lollar special t’s in the other, and neither is particularly ice picky. The lollars I run vol/vol with no tone circuit at all, and they’re awesome.
A little extra oomph satisfies.

yeah this rips.
I recently removed the tone control on my tele and I'm kinda enjoying the more direct sound from both pickups. I think I might go for a no load tone pot just wired for the bridge pickup eventually, but for now its fine.

Haven't posted in awhile... But Teles are my favourite. I've had my Blonde Tele for almost 15 years and it's my number one, but I also put together a couple of parts Teles that I also love. Here they are:

I’ve been really geeking out about the Mascis Sig Tele and the new Vintera II lineup (esp the 70s). Hard to choose, especially since I haven’t got my paws on a Vintera yet…

It looks great! I am a biased toward blonde with maple necks though. The grain on your body looks super. I just found out recently that mine is ash also. I always figured alder but the spec list for these lacquer Classics shows ash 8) I hope to eventually end up with some nice, hard won play wear on the fretboard of mine.
