Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thre
Just put this one together from parts. MM body and neck. Texas Specials. 4-way with reverse plate. Pretty much as close to my dream guitar as I could get on my budget. It is soooo bad-ass sounding.

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thre
Here's my new MiM standard tele, and the parts I'm gathering for an Esquire partscaster. It's getting an SD Lil59 in the bridge. Still undecided about colours; I'm contemplating just waxing or tru-oiling the body as it has a decent grain. I've had a couple of teles in the past and really regretted getting rid of one of them. I traded my unloved CIJ jag for the tele... I've still got my duo sonic but won't be getting rid of that!

Here's my #1. A 1978 Standard.
I built this one myself. Bit of a voodoo theme. Sapele body and neck with a curly maple cap.
And in the same vein I built this hybrid Strat/Tele as a gift for an old friend.

Ain't that the truth. I love my Benford. This one barely qualifies because the only Tele-ish thing about it is the body shape.Dylanwilde wrote:Teles are great, but Esquires are even better. LOVE my Benford-built one!

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thre
My AmStd Tele has sat mostly unplayed for a few months while I've been Jazzmaster and Gibson crazy (mostly because my other guitarist played Teles live during that time) but I pulled it out and played it at practice yesterday and most of the weekend and was reminded why, before I could afford Jazzmasters, the Telecaster was my guitar of choice. Plays right, balances right, sounds right. So interesting that Leo Fender pretty much nailed the solid body electric thing right from the word "go".

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thre
My very first electric was a Peavey International series Falcon II (made in Korea for the Asian and European market in the mid 90's).
I pulled it out of the closet not long ago after nearly 10 years, still a very nice guitar for the price I paid at the time. It's well built, the neck is very comfortable. The pickups and especially the tuners would need an upgrade, I might do that one day if I have some money for it

here are 2 that I appreciate a ton!
(Christopher, also)
I've been to one World's Fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing i ever heard come out a pair of headphones.

I'm thinking about a Tele so I went looking for this thread. I can't believe it's been nearly two years since there's been a comment while the stratocaster appreciation thread is still on the front page. Nothing against stats, just surprises me.

That's because the Tele has already seeped into other threads. The guilty pleasure that Strats are still needs to be contained in a separate section of shame.

Yeah, osg as a whole has kinda become the tele appreciation thread.
And that is completely ok with me.

Just ditched my early 90's tele plus. I didn't like the roller nut set up

Here's my cream 99 Standard. Probably my most played guitar and sounds great through any amp i've run it through.
