They DO look pretty nice!  :? And basswood... that's a step up for a squier! These really are "deluxe" aren't they? lol

My fave gtr at the moment is my Squier Deluxe Trans Strat - these were released in 2005 (I think) and discontinued in 2006: basswood, two point bridge, alnico pickups, parchment guard, parchment guard, rosewood board, white blonde finish.  It required a setup - truss rod, bridge, vibrato, a little fret buffing - but plays and sounds super!  With my garage/scuzz/drone/lo-fi style, basswood doesn't play a part, really  ::)  The finish is very thick and plastic-y - but it looks cool and, again, it's not a huge factor in tone in my hands.  The best examples of the best editions of Squier guitars are super values in my book.

This new deluxe model reads to be this same model with different finishes and a maple board; and the daphne blue looks super to me.  I've always wanted a sonic blue guitar and this is close enough to make me very happy.  And adding a mint green guard and pickup covers... 8) :D

I love light maple- Daphne blue goes so well with it!
Times change.  Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky?  Now it grows hair!  We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger
