Strat pickup cover size?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Strat pickup cover size?

Post by Marquischacha » Thu Jan 31, 2008 8:10 am

I'm just about to order a set of black knobs/tips/pickup covers for my stratobastard but as always, ordering on the internet for me is rarely easy and rife with paranoia.

When ordering, it says to specify the size of the pickup covers:

"MIX N MATCH 50MM AND 52MM E TO E POLE CENTRES WITH KNOBS, COVERS AND TIPS (BOTH)"

This sentence is confusing and frightening. I've tried measuring my old pup covers and the distance from the middle of the low E pole to the middle of the high E pole is in the 52mm/53mm area. Is this even right. Is this the distance that the above sentence is referring to? Would it even make that much difference if I got the 50mm size ones? Anyone who can shed some light on this would be rewarded with my eternal gratitude  ;D
