Re: NGD: 1976 (?) Jazzmaster project - page 3 IT'S HERE!
no love so far, huh? SNOBS!!!!
what is this, the gear page?!
anyways... i've used up 1.5 liter of thinner and i'm kinda high (really)!
i didn't quite finish it all but that can wait.
now i strung it up and all, works, sounds and even feels heavenly!
and... it didn't turn out too bad, huh?
SCREAMS 70s!
once more, i hit gold. at least i feel like it!
YES it's actually CANDY APPLE RED!!! NEVER seen a jazzer so late in CAR!
yeah the pickguard's broken, and i wasn't able to remove some yellow stains. might get a new one or just paint over it. or leave it.
i still have to finish the back. i've used NO sand paper so far.
and there's a reason why they refinned it...
it has MASSIVE wear on the sides and bottom. me likey!
finally a shot with flash.
once i finish rubbing the black color off, i'll get it nicely polished, as the CAR has suffered a bit with all these years of paint (and grey primer!) on it... and then the hours of thinner rubbing on/against it.
well i think that was QUITE a deal for $750, huh?!
now i'll get a pizza and some beer.
cheers!

I love the aesthetic of 70s jazzmasters. Great find!

Nice score Pat ... but why the hell would anyone do all that damage to a CAR Jazzmaster!?!
Do you think that perhaps the blocked were removed, board planed and then replaced with dots? Or are you sure it was a full replacement...

no idea. i'll post pics but it actually doesn't look like a too bad job (except for the dot markers).Despot wrote:Nice score Pat ... but why the hell would anyone do all that damage to a CAR Jazzmaster!?!

i'd have to remove the binding to check.
btw, i think the binding might actually still be the original one!
