Yeah, mine is similar. Both the vol and tone pots don't seem to have much adjustment up until the last quarter of the turn.

Wonder why Mr Marr would want that on purpose :fp:

That's not my experience at all. I can tell a big difference between 10 and 8 and then all the way through the travel of both pots.

Never thought I was the type to post about it...but that tort guard is a thing of beauty on that guitar! Very nice and had to be said :)

Since you mention it ... I think that combo is perhaps the best looking guitar I've ever seen. Here's a pic that highlights the guitar even more imo. The off-white oly white against the brown/orange spit, chrome parts, vintage white pups, red/brownish fingerboard and yellow tinted headstock. Perfection :-)

Made me seriously consider buying a sibling to my MKO jagumarr, or an oly white AV65 JM. However the JM lacks the chrome bits, and imo, the vintage, yellow tinted headstock compliments the spitfire much better ...

I have that same volume pot issue that has been mentioned. From zero to about three quarters - nothing. Then at three quarters the volume goes from loud to louder thru 10. It drives me crazy. In a live performance with a band it's not much of a problem because we are all cranked pretty loud but in rehearsal I have to lock in on the lowest setting that gives me any volume at all and keep it there. If I turn up even slightly it gets loud fast.

I think there are pots that could replace the one that comes in the guitar that would solve this and give a smooth linear range of volume all the way through the numbers but I'm not knowledgable enough to know which would be the correct replacement pot. Maybe someone here knows?

Hey, how did you find my picture :D

You don't need me to tell you that it's a Spitfire guard. The pictures show how much the guard can change in different light. It is a thing of beauty. Want to get another one for either my Sherwood Marr or AV65 in Firemist.

Googled spitfire + fender marr jaguar + oly white, in search of spitfire images of tort + oly on JM and Jaguars :-)

I know it's yours as I drooled over your earlier posts (in another thread). Congrats on the best looking guitar evah :?

That's funny, I thought he grabbed a pic of his own guitar and I was going to say the first one is the pick of the litter. As it seemed to have more darker spots than bright. So funny to find out it's the same guitar. The second pic, the guard looks like flames in the pit of a hell lol cool...but I'd get my lighting tech guy or bedroom lamp to suit the former, just unreal. Where did you source it from? I wouldn't stick one on my Marrguar in Sherwood Green BUT looking over at my Japanese bass VI...the tort is a bit dire.

That's beautiful! :-* How do you find the upper string spacing with the stock bridge, though? I think a Staytrem would be the cherry on top... and a steel switchtip of course. 8)

I've not noticed a single problem with anything. I find my Jag to be quite pleasing!

yeah not bad ;) I think because my jazzmaster in SG has a mint guard...I lean towards that as my fave combo.
I've got the body of a shell pink jazzy that'll be my next guitar...wonder if the spitfire tort would work on that :-X
I've been pretty happy with everything stock on my Marr. Maybe the occasional high E slipping off the neck. Just purchased a new bridge for the bass VI and was considering buying the metal switch-tip for the Marr...
but the plastic one is fine really, though I'm sure one would argue that that and the sig on the front of the headstock are two main downfalls off the production line.
I always have it in the 4th position and so it just about doesn't exist to me lol, so more money to add at best extra weight ehhh each to their own.

Oh yeah, my volume is the same as mentioned, nothing nothing nothing then just about everything in that last little bit of a turn.
I guess I just have my amp, pedals etc setup to accommodate this but it'd be nice to have volume control at one's fingertips without bending over!
